When did your love of STEM begin?
I chose a career in healthcare due to the experience of my own health struggles. I realized through this experience, that our most valuable asset is truly our health. When individuals are well, they are more productive, positive, and purposeful. I love a challenge and I wanted a career that allowed me to continue learning every day.
What did you love most about study in your field of STEM?
The coolest part of my job is I can influence an individual’s most valuable asset: their health. Not only does my job allow me to solve problems, but it also allows me to help others become the best versions of themselves. My patients are my greatest teachers and I am grateful to be in a career that is ever changing as we develop new research and innovations in healthcare.
What advice would you give to young women considering a career in STEM?
I absolutely believe a career in STEM is a fantastic way to help others. It is important to encourage women to explore an education or career in STEM to foster innovation. Always think of STEM as an opportunity to create change.
