When did your love of STEM begin?

Since I was very young, my father has been an inspiration to me as he is the most knowledgeable mechanical engineer I know. I have seen him designing and making machines from scratch, which made me want to do the same. Taking up science and math was a very natural choice for me as I never pictured myself in any other field.

What did you love most about study in your field of STEM?

There's always something new. Personally, in Automation and technology, whenever I have thought that I know how something works, there's a ton more that I don't know. It's exciting to see how your mind grows in STEM.

What advice would you give to young women considering a career in STEM?

Don't be scared to get your hands dirty. Be competitive, positive, bold and you will be happy. It takes a lot of effort but trust me, it is worth it.

“This is me at 11 years old dancing in one of my school’s annual celebrations. I am performing Kathak, which is a traditional Indian dance, that I learned growing up. Dancing has always been important to me as it as inspired me to try new things and be daring enough to take my talents and interests one step further each time.”
