When did your love of STEM begin?

In high school I had an amazing teacher who brought biology to life. I remember the exercise she had us do which explained the molecular composition of proteins, how amino acids came together - I was hooked!

What did you love most about study in your field of STEM?

STEM jobs have limitless potential - and many times, allow you to continuously learn. My job gives me the opportunity to be a leader, a teacher, a scientist, a student, and a mentor, all at once! I get to put on so many different hats throughout the day. The field of science is continuously growing and changing, and working in STEM allows you to be on the forefront of what is understood about the world around us.

What advice would you give to young women considering a career in STEM?

Every young girl that is curious about the world about what goes on around them should go into the STEM field and pursue it with all the passion they have. I would say be brave enough to go for it. You know there's there's nothing stopping you but yourself. Push yourself as far as you can go. STEM is incredibly rewarding career. I feel so fulfilled every day going to work. So I would say young girls thinking about going into science do it. It will be worth it when you are able to understand so much more about the world around you.
