Meet Haddie Majnoon

Haddie Majnoon earned her Masters of Science in Geology from McGill University, and her Masters of Business Administration from the Rotman School of Management. She currently works as a Senior Manager, Security Analytics Operations at CIBC. In her spare time, she likes to camp, hike, travel, read, and research.

When did your love of STEM begin?

My mom was a big advocate of learning science and math for my sister and I. With my mom’s encouragement, I became interested and strong in biology, chemistry and physics at school. Given my dad was a geologist, I naturally selected geology as my undergraduate/graduate studies. What always intrigued me about science and physics has been this feeling of forcing my brain to think outside the box to solve problems. Later on, I moved on to technology leadership with the foundational statistical/analytical skills I learned through geology, as well as leveraging the business skill set I gained through my Rotman MBA.

What did you love most about study in your field of STEM?

It inspires and motivates young women who don't have the confidence that they can do anything and everything.

What advice would you give to young women considering a career in STEM?

Go after your heart, be ready for the challenges and doubts, take on those challenges and prove to everyone especially yourself that you're amazing!
