When did your love of STEM begin?

During my senior year of high school, I realized how much I loved numbers, math and statistics were my favorite subjects, I always enjoyed doing homework and class exercises where we used data analysis to solve a problem. Also, my dad had an influence in my passion for this career, my dad is an incredible engineer and researcher and he taught me that the best way on solving problems is: understand, research, test, get results, if the results are not what you expected, try again but always different that the first time.

What is the best part about working in the field of STEM?

The best part is that I am always learning, every day is different from the day before. What I love the most is that as an Engineer we can work/fit on different departments in a company (Finance, Quality, Engineering, Materials, etc.) due all these areas needs solving problems knowledge.

What advice would you give young women interested in a career in STEM?

One of my mentors that inspired me the most once told me: “Set bold goals and work hard to achieve them, if you don’t have a goal how will you know when you get there?”. Never be afraid of any challenge you face. Always be confident of yourself as there will be times that people can make you feel that you cant. Don't let anyone to stop you from approaching your goals and passions, and most importantly be open to always learning.
