Meet Kristin Cobbett

In Kristin’s free time she enjoys astrophotography!

Meet Kristin Cobbett, she is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science, Chemistry & Biology with Physics minor from Wilfrid Laurier University, expecting to graduate in 2022. Kristin is a Scientist-Astronaut Candidate for Project PoSSUM. In her spare time she enjoys astrophotography, ice hockey, reading and hiking.

When did your love of STEM begin?

Growing up, my father was involved in the aerospace industry and was able to take me to many rocket launches and rocket assembly buildings. This fueled my interest to understanding our place in the cosmos.

What is the best part about working in the field of STEM?

Being on the frontline of major changes in the science world.

What advice would you give young women interested in a career in STEM?

Don't be the person who fears the storm, be the person who becomes it.
