When did your love of STEM begin?

Coming from a dairy farm in Ontario, and from parents that had no idea about STEM fields, my exposure came from my love of architecture. I loved beautiful skyscrapers, towers, and signature cultural elements such as Russian onion domes, Japanese curved roof lines, and Italian arches. My curiosity of architecture lead me to study engineering, with hopes that I could build beautiful structures. During my undergraduate studies, I realized I had a passion and love for bridges and devoted myself to that passion ever since.

What did you love most about study in your field of STEM?

I love working on interesting projects with people that share my passion.

What advice would you give to young women considering a career in STEM?

It's a rewarding and fulfilling path that provides many opportunities throughout your career for growth and personal development
