When did your love of STEM begin?

My love of STEM began as a child when I loved taking things apart and putting them back together. I was more interested in the way a Barbie was constructed than I was to change her outfits. As I progressed to high school and university I loved using math and logic to solve challenging problems. Engineering was the right place for me to grow my analytical thinking, increase my focus and problem solving skills. Although I spend most of my time on business problems today (vs. engineering), the skills I gained in school and my days working as a engineer have been invaluable to me.

What is the best part about working in the field of STEM?

The best part of working in STEM is the endless opportunities for a dynamic, innovative, and fulfilling career. If you discover a new passion along the way, transitioning to another field is much easier with a STEM background than the other way around. A strong foundation in science and math opens countless doors—your potential is limitless!

What advice would you give young women interested in a career in STEM?

Believe in yourself and your abilities—your ideas and contributions are valuable. Seek mentors, build a strong network, and continuously learn through hands-on experience.

Tell us a fun fact about you and your current role!

I can juggle! Both real circus like juggling and ...in balancing my family, life and work.
