When did your love of STEM begin?
My love for STEM began around the age of 10 when I noticed a need in my community. We lived far from the nearest library, so I took it upon myself to collect books from neighborhood kids and started a small local library. Seeing how happy my friends were when they had access to books sparked something in me—I realized the joy of solving a problem and making a difference. When I reached high school and began studying math, it all clicked. I discovered that an engineering mindset could help me not only identify issues but also create lasting solutions. That’s when I knew I wanted to use STEM to drive even bigger changes.
What is the best part about working in the field of STEM?
The best part of working in STEM is the power to create change. Every challenge is an opportunity to innovate, to think bigger, and to push boundaries. Whether it's streamlining manufacturing or developing sustainable solutions, knowing that the work we do can improve lives and industries is incredibly fulfilling. And in STEM, you’re never alone collaborating with brilliant minds keeps the journey exciting and inspiring.
What advice would you give young women interested in a career in STEM?
Never doubt the power of your curiosity, your voice, or your vision. The world needs more women in STEM to challenge the status quo, innovate, and lead.
Seek out mentors, be bold in your ideas, and embrace every challenge—because it’s in those challenges where you’ll grow the most.
And never take a breath for granted—each one is a step toward the extraordinary impact you’re capable of making.
