Meet Nicette Scott

Nicette Scott is in her final year of High School. She is currently an Intern at WEtech Alliance. In her free time she plays the harp at various events like weddings and fundraisers.

When did your love of STEM begin?

My love of STEM began at the start of my high school education. I really enjoyed my Mathematics and Science courses. Since then, I have always had a love for mathematics especially. I fast tracked all of my math courses offered at my high school. I plan to take Computer Science after graduating high school. My internship at WEtech Alliance has given me exposure to a STEM field which has helped guide me chose my program for post-secondary.

What is the best part about working in the field of STEM?

There is so much innovation in the STEM field. For example, technology is all around us and is changing all the time.

What advice would you give young women interested in a career in STEM?

Advice that I would give young women interested in a career in STEM is to never pass up opportunities such as events about STEM and to intern at a company that is in the STEM field because it gives you more exposure to the field. This can help young women become more aware of what a career in STEM looks like which could help direct their career path.
