When did your love of STEM begin?
Around Grade 3 or 4. My father encouraged me to take an interest in science so I could explore how nature works, by constantly questioning the 'why' of things.
What is the best part about working in the field of STEM?
The ideas. There is no limit to thinking about problems and creatively designing solutions that work. I have so much fun collaborating with others who share a similar passion to achieve the same goal, but with different perspectives/approaches. You get to learn so much everyday and it's never a dull moment.
What advice would you give young women interested in a career in STEM?
Be brave, be curious, be creative, be passionate, and never apologise for having 'dumb' questions.
