When did your love of STEM begin?:

In elementary school! I loved environmental science, and my teacher fostered that love by helping me create the Environmentalist Club. Bill Nye was a big role model for me, and I would love to be a role model for the next generation.

What is the best part about working in the field of STEM?

We are always discovering new things in science. The great thing about science is that it’s always changing and will adapt to new information.

What advice would you give young women interested in a career in STEM?

Don’t be discouraged or disheartened if you have poor grades in science or math in school. Science is all about making mistakes, and learning from them.
