When did your love of STEM begin?
My love of STEM began when I was in grade 11 in my AP Math Class. Calculus was my favorite subject and my teacher always took took the time to fully teach me and allow me to grow. My teacher was an amazing female role model who studied mathematics and always inspired me to work hard. She convinced me to pursue engineering and with the support of my family I applied to University.
What is the best part about working in the field of STEM?
The best part about studying a field of STEM is the endless opportunities in society that you can apply your studies to. I love having the opportunity to look at a problem from multiple different angles and provide insights to solving that problem. I've worked in process improvement and project management during my summer internships and these experiences have emphasized my passion to help others. Working in STEM can be challenging at times, but finding a solution to a tough problem is incredibly rewarding. I still have much of my career still ahead of me and so many more experiences to come!
