When did your love of STEM begin?
My love for STEM began when I was pretty young because I realized, when I was in middle school I think, that I was good at math and science. So I got more into that and then in high school I took on more math and science courses. And you tend to learn to love what you're good at. And then I loved it at university too. I was in a place surrounded by other people who loved STEM and who were really interested in engineering and then mechanical engineering when I got into that.
What did you love most about study in your field of STEM?
What I love most about studying STEM is that there's one right answer to every question. Pretty much so it could take you a really long time to get to that right answer. But once you kind of get there it's it's black and white like you know you're there you know you have the solution. It's not kind of, there's no two ways around it. I love that about STEM.
What advice would you give to young women considering a career in STEM?
The advice I would give to a woman considering a future instead is to absolutely do it. I think that you shouldn't be scared you shouldn't hold back. My experience in STEM has been amazing. I've learned a lot it's changed my life. I've met great people and now I have this degree that allows me to do anything I want really and can have a real impact on the world. So definitely don't hold back.
