Meet Amy Girard

Amy’s trip to Prince Edward Island!

Amy graduated with an Industrial Electronics Engineering Technology Diploma, at College Boréal, in 2008. She currently works as aSenior Electrical Designer at Goodkey Weedmark & Associates LTD. In her free time, Amy enjoys all outdoor activities including camping, fishing (including ice fishing), hunting, ATV rides, hiking in nature trails and travelling.

When did your love of STEM begin?

I have discovered STEM very recently when I was nominated to be a role model by one of my co-worker. I've started to do research about the organization and that's when I discovered why the organization was a true a gem!

What is the best part about working in the field of STEM?

The ability to make a difference in the world through your work.

What advice would you give young women interested in a career in STEM?

Don't let anyone discourage you in achieving your dreams. With technology, anything is possible. You just need to believe in yourself!
