When did your love of STEM begin?
As a new immigrant to Canada in 2008 with IT education and background, I found it challenging to get into the industry to be known and knowing a new culture and work environment while so many male were my competitors. I think STEM can help young females by supporting them to be on the right path of their goals and can achieve them in a more timely manner. I am so happy such a group exists which we can share our experience and can be helpful for others. I did not know such thing exist before and in February 2021, I 've seen a post in the Women in Tech channel in the company I worked in and I am so interested to join.
What is the best part about working in the field of STEM?
I would be happier if I could participate as a role model and can assist and coach young girls who would like to step in the world of technology which is changing with a high velocity. Any small step I can take that can change the career life of a young lady would be great.
What advice would you give young women interested in a career in STEM?
To have a unique career path of success, focus on what you want, define the actions to get to your goals and ask for the support and coaching to get there.
