When did your love of STEM begin?
I would say around Grade 5. I started taking some basic Biology classes and immediately fell in love. The more I learned, the more I wanted to know. It truly sparked my curiousity, and I have never looked back! As I grew older, I started looking beyond Biology and becoming interest in other STEM fields.
What is the best part about working in the field of STEM?
The best part about working in STEM fields is being able to embrace your curiousity while trying to answer important questions that could have a big social impact! I also love being able to share some of this knowledge with others. I think STEM education is crucial, and I am happy to be able to contribute to this.
What advice would you give young women interested in a career in STEM?
Believe in yourself! Do not let fear get in the way of your dreams. You are just as capable as anyone else. If you are passionate about something, pursue it. If you fail, try again. We need you!
