When did your love of STEM begin?
I would say that I am an accidental engineer as it was my mother who convinced me to enroll in engineering in University whereas I would have preferred to study history. However, when I got involved in research I fell in love with engineering and the important role it plays in society; and 30 years later I can still say I am in love with it.
What is the best part about working in the field of STEM?
The best part of being a Dean of Engineering is I have the privilege to help to educate our next generation of engineers in a society where technology and its use is pervasive and continues to grow rapidly.
What advice would you give young women interested in a career in STEM?
