When did your love of STEM begin?

When I was 5 years old, my father told me that one of my cousins had been accepted into one of the top engineering colleges in India and was going to become an engineer. I then and there said to my dad that I am going to be an engineer.

What is the best part about working in the field of STEM?

Endless opportunities and limitless possibilities. STEM is not confined to one field - labs, teaching, industry or research etc. It is diverse and multidirectional. A true multiverse!

What advice would you give young women interested in a career in STEM?

Never let your hunger for knowledge, your passion for innovation, your ability to question - go away. It’s a long way to success, a steep hill to climb but it is a gratifying career which will always give you pride, contention and confidence.

Tell us a fun fact about you and your current role!

I get to drive big machines with joysticks. Skyjack manufactures scissor lifts and booms. I get to write how to drive them (technical and operation manuals) and I also have the license to drive them, which is super fun!
