When did your love of STEM begin?
From childhood, I have been interested in STEM. The reason is clear: I got that from my dad who is also an electrical engineer. The highlight of my vacations included my dad teaching how power generation stations work. I remember following power lines leading to generation station, some of them were quite a hike! This all set a strong foundation for me to pursue a career in STEM. Most importantly, I enjoyed solving math problems and understanding simple science concepts as a little girl. Also, my teachers in high school have been very encouraging and help me solidify the concepts.
What did you love most about study in your field of STEM?
As of now, as I am still a student (Fourth year, Electrical Engineering). In my different work terms, the thing I have enjoyed the most is the dynamic environment and how you will not be doing one thing all the time. It is also very interesting to see how the knowledge gained over years applies in real life and different scenarios.
What advice would you give to young women considering a career in STEM?
Don't be afraid!!! Be open and ask questions!!
